We cooked for a shelter this year and left all the food there. Well, we did have an extra container of cranberry sauce and dressing. But I have a clear conscience as I write this since I already polished off the dressing. I find the best way to avoid temptation is to eat it.

FYI- I have stomach issues too. I get up every morning and take over-the-counter meds so I can drink my coffee on the way to school without setting off my stomach.

What I meant to say in the last sentence is that it's a book for children to read to an animal that's about reading to an animal.

I love this. I was never very good at reading to my children, which I feel guilty about. I don't like to read out loud, maybe because of the way I read, which is to scan huge batches of words at once. Maybe I would have enjoyed it more if I started out young reading to an animal.

I tried reading all of the character parts to my children in different voices, but my children didn't like me to have any other voice but my own, at least when they were very young.

Maybe you can write a book for children about reading to an animal that is about reading to an animal.

I had to order a copy of my college transcript to enroll in my masters program. I think they were stored in a salt mine somewhere. For what they charge, I think this is the business to be in. What was alarming was how many courses I'd taken that I had no recollection of. "The Psychology of Satisfaction?"

There's no better time to reinvent yourself than now. I'm saying that because my husband's business (the film biz) has flatlined. I never thought that I, the teacher, would be the goose that laid the golden egg, but that's what it's come to.

You're in a boat the size of the Titanic with other people looking to explore options they'd never thought they'd have to. It's harder in a smaller market though, despite all the talk about doing everything on-line. Good luck.

I'm envious, but think this is a plan. I have a small family, and I don't "do" the mailing of gifts anymore. Spent way too much time at UPS in NYC moving those packages along in the line with my foot. I send my parents and my brother back in Michigan something that is perishable aka food.

We always got both our boys one gift only plus the stocking stuff.
I just got fed up with all the excess. One year I gave my younger son a rock in a box. He looked disappointed because it was HIS rock. But then he noticed that it was attached to yarn that led to a new skateboard under the couch. That Santa is a crafty dude.

You're not dense. I always get that "the tissue is so dense, we can't get a clear reading." BTW, the place where I go is pink, pink, pink. Very UN-spa-like.

Mummy dogs - Cool! And stashing bags of crap is what I call cleaning. With all those hyped up kids, you probably looked like you still had your zombie costume on the next day.

My class has voted to have an "apple bobbing" party as our next class reward. But I told them I can't have them sticking their mouths in water when the flu is going around. So the brainac who got the kids all excited about this project suggested we could hang the apples on strings. So, some time in the next couple of weeks, I'm going to be hot glueing 22 apples to a rope to string across the classroom. After they "grab" one, they get to dip it in caramel sauce. Does your friend Eileen have plans?
